Feb 19, 2018 - All traffic from Synology Download Station will be through VPN. Sure you have access to your NAS locally before switching on your VPN.
VPN for torrenting and Usenet
I recently got a Synology 918+ and am using it primarily as a Plex server. I typically get all my downloads from Usenet but have been wanting to get into private torrent trackers so I have even more options (and no takedowns). Unfortunately it seems like there isn't a way to only route torrent traffic over a VPN on the Synology (if someone knows how to do this, that would be awesome).

Unfortunately, routing all traffic over VPN slows my Usenet downloads from a max of about 25MB/s to about 6MB/s which is obviously unacceptable. I have gigabit internet for a reason! I've tried using PrivateInternetAccess (OpenVPN), VyprVPN (OpenVPN), and ExpressVPN (IP2Sec), connecting to servers in my city, with the same result in all. Does anyone know how to solve this speed issue?
