I've been experiencing slow upload speeds for the last few months and it's been impossible to troubleshoot with Comcast via phone or chat. My download speeds are perfectly fine and I have zero complaints - it's only the upload speed. I didn't have any issues with my upload speeds prior to this and my service level hasn't changed. My desktop is hard wired in and the connection path is: coaxial - modem (SVG2482 AC) - router (R7000) - desktop. Bridge mode is enabled and WiFi is disabled on my modem
My current service states download speeds up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds up to 20 Mbps but the upload speed is anywhere between 2 - 5 Mbps when using non Xfinity speed tests like TestMy.net or Google
The problem I constantly have with support (besides the constant reboot modem ad nauseam and a new one from today: run disk clean up) is how Comcast only recognizes their speed test and the results that show on their page are not what actually occur. It's near impossible to stream at an acceptable bitrate now and the stream health graph looks like the top half of a Richter scale when an earthquake occurs

Slow Upload Speeds While Download is Fine
I have a 300Mbps/25Mbps plan, and just started noticing over the past few days that my upload speeds are slower than normal. I'm getting an upload speed ranging from 2-8Mbps on various speed test websites, including Xfinity's website. This is causing an issue for me using Plex to share media outside of my network -- I am not sure when this issue started but it came to my attention yesterday -- and I know that it wasn't an issue a couple of months ago with the exact same hardware and subscription. My cable modem is a Netgear CM1000.
I first chatted with Comcast support online earlier this evening. They believed the issue was that my cable modem's boot file was wrong, but they weren't able to update it so they had me call support. The woman who I spoke with on the phone agreed that the boot file was incorrect, and she was able to update it. But unfortunately this had no effect on my speed. She said that at this point I had to contact my cable modem manufacturer for further support. I do plan on doing this, but I don't believe that the issue is related to the cable modem as I have tried a different modem and it had no effect on the speed.
I have tested bypassing my router and connecting my laptop directly to the cable modem via ethernet. My tests are using hard wired connections.
Xfinity Wifi Download Speed Slow
Could there be something on Comcast's side that is throttling my upload speeds? The woman I spoke with said the next step is to have a technician come out if the cable modem manufacturer can't solve the issue. Can the cable modem power and signal levels not be properly verified remotely?
